Review: Money Shot #8 (Vault Comics)

Written by: Tim Seeley & Sarah Beattie  Art by: Rebekah Isaacs & Kurt Michael Russell Letters by: Crank!

A story about scientists having sex with aliens for the glory of mankind…and money. The 8th issue for this crazy, sex mad series is on sale now.

PLOT AND STORY

For those not familiar with the series Money Shot here is the synopsis:

“Enter the Planet Cockaigne (a real name from history that we totally didn’t make up)! The XXXplorer’s arrive in a world of pleasure and leisure where scientists are superstars. The only problem is… they’ve been forced to bring along moron and POTUS Luke Kirk! How long until he says or does something really terrible?”

Our group of nymphomaniac scientists are in hunt of a positron battery and obviously attending alien orgy’s is the best way to do that. This issue is introduced by a hilarious news report on Earth which has some very real life similarities to protests we see on the news in America. People so brainwashed by their president they don’t acknowledge the outrageous things he says or does. Sound familiar?

This is the type of bonkers writing we have come to expect from Tim Seeley and Sarah Beattie. What stands out with this series isn’t just the crazy adventures but the layers of humor and emotion. We have a group of characters who whilst on a mission for humanity find themselves struggling with their own feelings for each other.

ARTWORK

This series is overflowing with originality and quite simply some of the most peculiar looking creatures. Rebekah Isaacs draws very attractive looking bodies and I like the variation of physiques she presents. Kurt Michael Russell fills the pages with bold, bright and vibrant colors.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Having followed comedian Sarah Beattie on twitter I was intrigued to see how her humor would transform to a comic and I have been really impressed with the jokes per page. This is a comic that will make people laugh and provide you with some enticing visuals with plenty of X rated material.

I read this via an advance preview copy issued by Vault comics and recieved no incentive to review this comic.
